What is Azopt 1 Eye Drop?
Ocular hypertension and glaucoma can be treated topically with Azopt 1 Eye Drop. Caused by an imbalance between fluid production and drainage, these conditions are characterised by elevated intra-ocular pressure (increased fluid pressure within the eyeballs). It helps by decreasing the number of tears your eyes produce and consequently reducing eye pressure.
If any of these negative effects persist or worsen over time, you should talk to your doctor. Because the medication can cause temporary blurred vision, you should not drive or operate heavy machinery right after receiving an injection. Azopt Eye Drops must not be ingested. Put one drop of Azopt 1 eye medication in your eye as directed. To administer an eye drop, tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid.
If you have ever had an allergic reaction to Azopt 1 Drop, you should not use this eye drop. The most common form of the glaucoma (group of eye disorders) caused by elevated intraocular pressure is open-angle glaucoma. Vision loss may occur as a result of permanent damage to the eye's optic nerve. If you have open-angle glaucoma, your eye pressure can be lowered by using Azopt 1 Eye Drop.

Most Common Side Effects of Azopt 1 Eye Drop are as follows:

Blood poisoning
Suppression of bone marrow function leads to diminished production of blood cells in the bone marrow (a spongy substance present at the centre of your bones). If you have a history of blood cell disorders or bone marrow suppression, you should use Azopt 1 Eye Drop with caution due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.
Porphyria
When porphyrin, a chemical, accumulates in the body, it causes porphyria. Heme, a protein necessary for oxygen transport in the blood, is affected. Issues with the skin or nervous system may result. If you suffer from porphyria, you should exercise extreme caution when using Azopt 1 Eye Drop.
Urologic Disorders
Patients with kidney disease should exercise caution when using Azopt 1 Eye Drop because the diseased organ cannot filter the medication effectively. The potential for toxicity is thus raised.
Warning
Put one drop of Azopt 1 eye medication in your eye as directed. To administer an eye drop, tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid.
Keep a regular schedule and use it then. The medication should only be applied to the skin.
Do not get it in your eyes, ears, or open wounds. If it gets there, wash it off with water right away. Before putting in the eye drop, make sure your hands are clean.
Avoid getting the dropper's tip near your eye or anywhere else on your body. Wait five minutes after using Azopt 1 Eye Drop before applying any other eye medication. If your symptoms don't improve after using the product for a few weeks, you should talk to your doctor.
Use of Azopt 1 Eye Drop is not recommended for those with pre-existing liver disease because it may exacerbate existing symptoms.
Use caution when applying Azopt 1 Eye Drop because it may cause corneal oedema (swelling of the cornea, the clear dome-shaped outer surface of the eye).
Possible vision impairment from using Azopt 1 Eye Drop. If your vision is blurry, you shouldn't be doing things like driving or operating machinery.
Due to a lack of reliable safety and efficacy data, Azopt 1 Eye Drop should not be used in children younger than 18 years old.
Wearing contact lenses in your eyes while using Azopt 1 Eye Drop is not advised. Take out your lenses before you put drops in your eyes. After the eye drops have been put in, you should wait at least 15 minutes before putting your contacts back in.
