What is Augmentin Dry Syrup?
Augmentin Dry Syrup is an antibiotic that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It can kill bacteria that have become immune to other treatments. This means that it can also help treat tuberculosis which has become immune to other therapies.
Your child can take Augmentin Dry Syrup with food or on an empty stomach. It is better to give it food because that helps the body absorb it better and makes it less likely that the stomach will get upset. The doctor might tell you to take it twice or three times a day. How much medicine your child needs depends on how bad the infection is, what kind it is, how old, and how much he or she weighs. So, follow the dose, time, and way that was given to you. If your child throws up the medicine within 30 minutes of taking it, wait until the child is calm and give them the same dose again. If it's time for the next dose, don't take two.
What are the Uses of Augmentin Dry Syrup?
Used to treat tuberculosis that has become resistant (TB)
In MDR tuberculosis, the bacteria that cause the disease make an enzyme called beta-lactamase. This enzyme breaks down antibiotics, which stops them from working. Because of this, the bacteria get used to the antibiotics that are being used to treat them. Amoxycillin and clavulanic acid are the two active ingredients in Augmentin Dry Syrup. Even though clavulanic acid stops the enzyme from making Amoxycillin useless, amoxycillin still kills the bacteria that cause tuberculosis. Because of this, the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid is a good way to treat tuberculosis that has become resistant.
Augmentin Dry Syrup is used to treat bacterial infections. It has two medicines in it, Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid, that work together to kill the bacteria that cause infections. Amoxycillin stops bacteria from growing, which is how it works. Clavulanic Acid makes bacteria less resistant to Amoxycillin and makes it work better against bacteria.
This combination medicine can be used to treat bacterial infections in the ear, sinus, throat, lung, urinary tract, skin, teeth, joints, and bones. It usually makes you feel better within a few days, but you should keep taking it as directed even after you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are eliminated, and the resistant population doesn't grow.
