The recent upsurge in use of herbal medicines has led to a sudden increase in herbal manufacturing unsets. In india, there are about 15 well-recognized and 90 medium scale manufactures of herbal drugs. Other than this about, 8,000 licensed small manufactures in India at on record. In addition, thousands of vaidyas also have their Owen miniature manufacturing facilities. The estimated current annual production of herbal drugs is around Rs45000 crores.
